On Thursday, August 27th, Audemars Piguet hosteda mixed doubles virtual tennis tournament and cocktail party with tennis champions and Audemars Piguet brand ambassadors Serena Williams and Stan Wawrinka. On the brink of a potential historic calendar Grand Slam, Williams returns to NYC this week to play for a fourth major tournament title this year. Ranked number five in the world entering this week’s tournament, Wawrinka joined Williams and over 150 guests at The Standard, High Line to celebrate their year of success in a festive atmosphere.

With a panoramic view of the Hudson River as a backdrop, Xavier Nolot, CEO of Audemars Piguet North America, welcomed guests including Oliva Palermo & Johannes Huebl, Marion Bartoli, Bjarke Ingels, Jay Williams and Nausheen Shah among others. Before the Wii tennis finals commenced, Williams and Wawrinka gave remarks to the crowd. When asked about playing tennis in the United States both players noted their affinity for New York City. Williams added, “It was always my dream to play in New York and to also hold a trophy here so it is a great feeling to be on this stage.”

 

Williams and Wawrinka also shared their passion for Audemars Piguet, expressing their admiration of the brand’s thoughtful design and their love of the history of the family owned brand.  Celebrating the evening in style, Williams wore a new ladies Millenary in rose gold with a diamond set bezel (77247OR.ZZ.A812CR.01) on a black alligator strap. Wawrinka sported the Royal Oak (15400OR.OO.1220OR.01) with a rose gold case and bracelet featuring a black dial. Olivia Palermo also wore the new ladies Millenary, featuring a white gold case with a diamond set bezel (77247BC.ZZ.A813CR.01) with the elegant black alligator strap option.
