Sportier than Blancpain's dive watches, the L-evolution series was inspired by Blancpain's sponsorship of the Super Trofeo racing series and Lamborghini. This timepiece is motorsport themed in every way as numerals 12 and 9 are executed in the same font used to identify the Italian sports car, the large date display is similar to that used on the time-lap clocks during the race, and the counter at 9 o'clock is in the shape of Lamborghini's badge. Even the split seconds pusher is shaped like a gas cap. Carbon fiber, which is commonly used in the auto racing world, is not only found on the dial and bezel of the watch, but also on the caseback of the watch and inlayed along the Alcantara leather strap.
