For race car drivers, nothing counts more than time and there's no other object that symbolizes a drivers relationship with time more than their watch. The Rolex Daytona Mika Häkkinen Challenge, a watch collaboration with Formula 1 world champion Mika Häkkinen, is the perfect blend of classic watchmaking and Formula 1 racing. Since 2005, Les Artisans de Geneve has customized and modified watches and Häkkinen wanted a personalization that would reflect his life's philosophy to keep moving forward, regardless of the obstacle. The titanium dial was modified to be skeletonized with blue and orange accents, a custom bezel made of titanium is engraved with "Tachymetre" in orange and "Titanium G5" in blue, and the crown was given an orange border adding to the sporty look of the piece. The accent colors were chosen by Häkkinen to remind him of the race tracks where he achieved his success.

The technicality played a key role in the project, largely through the watch’s skeleton movement.
