Introducing The Slim D' Hermes Perpetual Calendar, Just In Time For Father's Day

Hermes Paris

Looking for that perfect gift for dad? Consider Hermes. Long known for its ties and scarves, the brand also packs a pretty powerful punch when it comes to watches. While it offers dive watches and watches that mischievously hide the time, Hermes' newest series of ultra-slim watches offers elegant appeal.

With dimensions that settle nicely on the wrist and beneath a suit jacket sleeve, the new Slim d' Hermes line consists of several models, but the Perpetual Calendar Moonphase watch is a killer when it comes to looks. The watch is built using a base caliber from Vaucher (a movement manufacture that Hermes co-owns) that measures 2.6mm in height. It is topped with an Agenhor module for the calendar that measures 1.4mm in height — making the caliber just 4mm in total.

The Manufacture Hermes H1950 ultra-thin automatic movement features a micro-rotor and has bridges engraved with the brand's H motif — all of which is visible via a transparent sapphire caseback. The watch — created in gold in a 39.5 mm diameter case — displays the days, months, leap years and moon phase indication via a white mother-of-pearl disk set on an aventurine background.

Aesthetically, the dial utilizes a specially created typeface that Hermes developed with designer Philippe Apeloig. In addition to the perpetual calendar, there are several three-hand automatic movables in the line, and several quartz versions, as well. Thanks to the diversity of movements, sizes and materials, the new Slim d'Hermes line has something to offer in a wide range of prices.
