Gerald Charles
Shortly after selling the brand that bears his name in the early 2000s, Gerald Charles Genta, the foremost and most lauded watch designer of the the 20th century, realized his vast creative energy needed another outlet. The Gerald Charles brand, which he worked to develop until his death in 2011, is a continuation of Genta’s creative thread that has included such milestone watches as Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak and Patek Philippe’s Nautilus. The recent explosion of interest in Genta’s work now exceeds anything he experienced during his lifetime.
Now owned by the Ziviani family, Gerald Charles watches represent the elegant side of the designer’s oeuvre. Each model, like the Maestro or the sporty Masterlink bracelet watch (a category always associated with Genta) is updated physically and technically by a team of specialists and made with precision in Switzerland. Each represents a highly contemporary vision of watch design that is rooted in one of the greatest creative traditions in the entire history of watchmaking.
