Ulysse Nardin Sails Along With America's Cup Racing In New York
This past weekend, New York City played host to the Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series Racing. With the dramatic backdrop of the Empire State Building, the racing took place on the Hudson River for the first time in nearly 100 years and Emirates Team New Zealand came away with the win.
This year witnessed some of the most superb sailing thanks to the fact that the six teams are racing in AC45F catamarans with high-tech hydrofoils that lift the boat right out of the water. With the title sponsor of the Challenger events being the famed brand Louis Vuitton, the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series races leading up to next year's 35th America’s Cup had several watch brands involved.
Among them was Ulysse Nardin. The brand is a top sponsor of Swedish team, Artemis Racing, and has designed the Marine Diver Artemis Racing nautical watch in honor of that sponsorship. The 44mm timepiece features a unidirectional bezel and is water resistant to 300 meters. Powered by the automatic UN-26 movement, it is crafted in blue and yellow Artemis Team colors. The engraved caseback features the team logo, boat and “Challenger 35th America’s Cup” verbiage. Just 250 pieces will be made.
