Resuming its time leap and plunging into the core of the Mesopotamian civilization, specifically the city of Ur from which Urwerk draws its inspiration, comes the second edition of the UR-100V Time and Culture, the Time and Culture II, aka "Sumer." The inhabitants of Ur, the Sumerians, defined the very first unit of time, laying the foundations for time measurement as we know it today; 60 seconds and 60 minutes. Beneath the sapphire dome stands a veritable Pantheon in honor of these remote and ancient divinities, including a four-pointed sun representing the four cardinal points. The moon god Nanna, the Chief Divinity of the city of Ur, can be seen between the lugs while other space-related shapes stand out on the periphery conveying the Sumerian's astronomical knowledge. The infinite blue was chosen for this incredible timepiece in reference to lapis lazuli, the stone linked to Inanna, the goddess of love, war, and fertility. Limited to 30 pieces.
