Take A Closer Look At The Hermes Dressage Watch

As with many collections from Hermes, the Dressage watch line draws inspiration from the equestrian world. There are a host of different models in the Dressage line, which was originally designed by Henri d'Origny in 2003 with a cushion-shaped case reminiscent of elements from harness making. The elegant watches (chronographs and other small complications) in the line typically house Manufacture Hermès movements, and offer a sophisticated appeal.

One of our favorites is the Dressage L’Heure Masquée that plays with the perception of time. This is achieved via an unusual time indication wherein the hour hand is "masked" or hidden (behind the minute hand) and only reveals itself with the push a button set into the crown. When the button is pushed, the hour hand jumps into position enabling accurate reading of hours and minutes. Additionally there is a window that indicates a second time zone (GMT indication), and when the button is pushed, the second time zone reveals itself, as well (via a slide cover). The GMT time can be set in one hour jumps (thanks to a pusher located at 10:00) and has an am/pm indicator. The watch is a bit whimsical but also mysterious and alluring.

The watch is, as we said, a cushion shape and is offered in stainless steel or in rose gold. It is powered by a mechanical self-winding Hermes caliber, H1925, that offers 45 hours of power reserve and stunning Hermes decorative finishes.
