The New MB&F LAB Silicon Valley Inaugurates The Villa Menlo Park

The Villa Menlo Park, the new groundbreaking retail development spearheaded by Stephen and Jared Silver, introduced itself to clients with a ribbon cutting celebration for the new MB&F LAB Silicon Valley on The Villa’s first floor. Hosted by MB&F Founder Maximilian Büsser and Jared Silver, the new boutique was thronged with Silicon Valley watch enthusiasts eager to see the area’s newest mecca for the exotic and unusual in watches and jewelry. The new MB&F LAB Silicon Valley is not only home to the brand’s well-known timepieces, it features a large collection of kinetic and horological inspired art, curated in the style of MB&F’s original M.A.D. Gallery in Geneva. Collectors relished the opportunity to spend a little face time with Max Büsser as he celebrated the brand’s milestone 20th anniversary.

“We have partnered with MB&F since 2014,” offered Jared Silver. “And for the last five years, we have been planning this boutique as the natural next step in the growth of MB&F in Silicon Valley. Max is someone I have long admired in the watch industry, and I only consider it fitting that MB&F is the first brand to open in The Villa Menlo Park, which is a first-of-its-kind statement for independent watches on a global level.”

Besides the just-opened MB&F LAB, attendees at The Villa Menlo Park on El Camino Real got a peek at the almost-completed boutique for H. Moser & Cie. as well as the new retail salon for Stephen Silver Fine Jewelry, which replaces the brand’s space at the Rosewood Sand Hill Hotel. The space, which will soon by augmented by an expansive Stephen Silver Fine Jewelry penthouse salon on the building’s third floor, showcases Stephen Silver’s jewelry as well as its broad array of watch offerings. The just-opened Eylan restaurant by restaurateur Ayesha Thapar and chef Srijith Gopinathan is also located on the first floor.

“This is just the beginning,” continued Jared Silver. “In the crowd just this first night, I could see a few collectors of other brands, who were seriously considering adding an MB&F. Once the boutiques are open, I think it will be a real tipping point for independent watches, which have been building interest and energy for the last few years. It’s going to be a very exciting time.”
