Art Deco Emerald and Diamond Brooch

Art Deco Emerald and Diamond Brooch

This magnificent Art Deco brooch crafted in platinum and 18 karat white gold features two pear shaped cabochon cut Colombian emeralds weighing 26.11 total carats. The emeralds connect to hexagonal step cut diamonds that suspend from the main body of the brooch, which is comprised of various cuts of diamonds with a combined total weight of 5.90 carats. This brooch would make an excellent addition to any jewelry collection.

The piece was owned by Countess Ahlefeldt-Laurvig of Sweden (1914-2008). The Countess had relations with the heir to the Kingdom of Nepal, from whom she received the antique emeralds as a gift, and presumably commissioned the brooch in its current Art Deco form as a keepsake.
