Laurent Ferrier Montre Ecole Galet
Well recognized for superb use of line and proportion in its cases, Laurent Ferrier has augmented its signature flowing Galet case with a simpler model that retains the brand’s spirit of elegance. Dubbed the Montre Ecole—“the school watch”—the case model mimics the simple timepieces many student watchmakers (including Ferrier himself at one point) assemble at the end of their training. Angular lugs are soldered onto the Galet’s pebble-like case, a construction technique very much like the first wristwatches. With the perfect curves and balance of the Galet case, not to mention the sophistication of the Micro-Rotor movement, the new model has all the captivation of the original.
