Meet The Bell & Ross Bro03 Desert Watch - Just In Time For Summer

Today marks 47 years since Neil Armstrong became the first person in the world to step onto the moon's surface. Over the years, many different watch brands got involved in space, aviation and flight. Bell & Ross is one such brand. In fact, in the early 1990s this Swiss brand built an efficient chronometer to meet the exacting needs of NATO and the Air Force. It has since created one of the most intriguing lines of aviation watches on the market.

Bell & Ross’s new BR03 Desert Type watch was specially designed for pilots needing a tool to measure short time intervals. While staying true to the core functions of a pilot watch, including legibility, precision and magnetic- and water-resistance, this particular piece was designed to meet the specifications of air forces operating in warm countries. The dial design, inspired by military, is formed by two overlapping inserts: the upper insert is beige with cut-away numerals and indices that reveal the lower, black, photo-luminescent insert. The shape of the hands and the typography of the numerals guarantee ease of reading.
