Horological Fireworks from Arnold & Son
Time Pyramid
When it was introduced over a decade ago, the Arnold & Son Time Pyramid launched the brand into a new league of high design, open works watches. By stacking the balance on top of a symmetrical pyramid of going train and power reserve displays, Arnold and son made a daring statement in movement architecture and put it all on display with sapphire crystals front and back. The design and finishing make this piece a classic for horology lovers.
DSTB 42
Arnold & Son is rooted in John Arnold’s mid-8th century developments in marine chronometers, which were designed for the highest level of accuracy for navigational purposes. A common feature of these is deadbeat seconds, which moves the seconds hand in easily readable jumps rather than continuous motion. For their DSTB (Dial Side True Beat), the company decided to move the interesting mechanism for this function above the dial, which required the construction of finely finished bridges as well as a stylized anchor-tailed pallet for the viewer’s appreciation.
Luna Magna Platinum
Arnold & Son's approach to the moon phase complication is almost always large-scale. Luna Magna is the watch world’s largest three-dimensional moon phase display. Appropriate to its celestial subject matter, our platinum version is built with meteorite in the dial as well as the dark side of the spherical moon. The naturally striated metal—always a favorite among collectors—is even more striking in this dimensional presentation.
