A Pair of Essentials from H. Moser & Cie.
Streamliner Flyback Automatic Stainless
When it was released in 2020, this chronograph marked the debut of Moser’s Streamliner sports model and quickly earned recognition as a poster child for the brand’s innovative design. Moser’s signatures are all over this watch, from the “Funky Blue” dial, to the striking linked bracelet, as well as the movement with its functional yet unorthodox architecture. The jurors at the prestigious Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève were so impressed, they awarded it best chronograph of the year, a worthy validation for a place in any collection.
Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon
With so much attention paid to the detail of its famous dials, H. Moser & Cie. does not frequently venture into the arena of open works watches. But far from experiencing a compromise, admirers of visible mechanics will be delighted with every aspect of the Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon. Wrapped around the miniature domed dial in the famous “Funky Blue” motif is a beautifully flowing and symmetrical movement that features curves evoking 19th century watchmaking. At the heart of the tourbillon cage is an escapement with a cylindrical hairspring, a rare construction designed to give improved accuracy to marine chronometers, and a three-dimensional addition to this mechanical sculpture.
